8 HOT WEATHER babywearing tips that EVERY Mother NEEDS to know.
My TOP 8 HOT WEATHER BABY-WEARING TIPS
-
PICK THE RIGHT CARRIER
A sling is great hot weather carrier. Our slings are minimal in design and are made from cool and airy linen that not only blends seamlessly with your lifestyle; they’ll match your wardrobe too.
-
DON’T OVER DRESS BABY
In hot weather, dress your baby in one thin, natural fibre layer, like a soft cotton vest. This is so you don’t stick together, which will make both feel hot and sweaty! If baby is in a nappy only, place a little flannel between you both instead.
-
ADD A SUN HAT
A cute brimmed bonnet of a cotton sun hat for baby is vital! The tail of the sling can be hovered over baby’s head as a temporary shade too. (Always ensure baby has plenty of fresh airflow and that the fabric is not covering their airways.)
-
SUNSCREEEN
Apply sun cream to exposed skin and don’t forget to protect yourself too. -
BE A SHADE SEEKER
Stay in the shade wherever possible and travel light. Lugging an over packed baby bag is going to work up sweat.
-
WATER
It’s an obvious one, but often forgotten! Stay hydrated - especially if you are breastfeeding. Babies tend to feed morein the heat.
-
DRESS COOL
Choose loose natural fibres and don’t forget your sunglasses and a large wide brimmed sunhat. It may even help shade baby too.
-
OBSERVE YOUR BABY
ALWAYS observe and monitor your baby to see how they coping and act accordingly.
Be safe and have fun in the sun!
